Conference Logistics

Transportation from the Airport

The Dane County Regional (Madison) airport code is MSN. http://www.msnairport.com/ There are frequent connecting flights from Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, and other cities, operated by a variety of airlines, including American, Delta, and United. The airport is 5.8 miles from the conference site on campus.

Taxis from the airport to the campus area:

Union Cab (a worker cooperative) http://www.unioncab.com/ 608-242-2000

Badger Cab http://www.badgercab.com/index.php 608-256-0106

Hotel

We recommend Lowell Center, 610 Langdon St., run by UW-Madison. It's comfortable, clean, and an easy walk to restaurants and the conference site (and the rest of the UW-Madison campus). Unfortunately, there is no discount on rooms for conference attendees. The website is http://conferencing.uwex.edu/, and the phone number is (608) 256-2621.

SEASSI Poetry Night

All conference attendees are invited to participate in (or at least observe!) SEASSI Poetry Night, which will take place in Isthmus North and South Rooms, Lowell Center, 610 Langdon St., Saturday, July 28, 7-9 pm. Poetry Night is an annual SEASSI tradition in which SEASSI language students and instructors, as well as members of the public, share in the reading of poetry and song in Southeast Asian languages. For more information, contact [email protected].
